Strategy
This Quest does not require players kill all the monsters. There are four stages on the way to the boss [[Mini Dragon], each stage has a mini-boss itself. Defeat the mini boss, then the monsters in current stage will disappear. One strategy used to drastically save time, is to drag the mini-boss to the next area where the next mini-boss will spawn. This saves a lot of time as players don't have to fight along the way.
The Boss, Mini Dragon, has high health points and damage. Since it can cast Fear on players, more than two high level tankers are recommended. It also helps if the Tanks drag the Dragon so that it faces a wall. This lowers the overall damage potential of its deadly breath and jump attacks. Mini Dragon can also summon multiple monsters(a group of 10 - 15) 4 - 5 times and cast a HP-regeneration skill on itself up to 4 times. If the KQ party can't kill the summoned monsters quickly/efficiently enough, it is recommended that a spare Fighter Mock the spare mobs and drag them them to a secluded area. After defeating the Dragon, a number of ores will be spawned around the area. Mini Dragon ring and other tier 1 - 3 potion materials and stone materials can be found in these ores.
Due to a recent update, the Mini Dragon in the normal KQ can possibly use its jump-AoE consecutively. It is possible to have a 3 jump combo from the Mini Dragon. Every player should watch after its jump to see if it will jump again. For Clerics, don't revive the dead until the Mini Dragon stops jumping.
The Hardcore Mini Dragon heals once and fears more than jumping. It is recommended to have at least 3 tankers in the Hardcore Mini Dragon. As in the normal difficulty KQ, it summons Werebears and Ogres before it dies but these are a lot stronger than the normal. It is recommended to pull Mini Dragon out from the mob-spawn and leave the mobs untouched.(most Mini Dragon Hardcore fails here)
General Tips
- Damage dealer fighters should stand behind Giant Goblin King or face being killed by it's AoE. When Mini Dragon Appears you should avoid fighting it, just lure away and kill any mobs that appear for the tankers and archers/mages to keep fighting it.
- If you see Mini Dragon fly up in the air, run as far back as possible. Magic defense will help in surviving it as well as being an End build.
- The AOE jumps center is the current target that has aggro and not the dragon itself. With the most recent patch you are able to see who has aggro which helps a lot. When the MD jumps find out who has aggro and run FROM that person even if you run towards MD.
- If you have aggro and MD jumps you should run AWAY from everyone else, not away from the dragon. You are going be hit by it no matter what, so might as well save everyone else.
- If the tank wishes, a high level cleric/cleric with high def can stand against the wall and focus on healing the tanker(s). The cleric should be able to survive jumps from MD and perhaps might use T2 or T3 Defense and Vitality Scrolls.
- This is rare, but it is smart to make your parties based on your quests
