Restructuring the monsters section
I intend to collate the bits and pieces of information in existing pages, none of which is complete, into a more unified structure in which each page serves a specific purpose, with a greater amount of interlinking amongst the pages, for increased ease of access. These pages should be laid out in such a manner so as to minimise confusion for someone who is contemplating input. This means the removal of repetition of content in several loosely linked pages and in some cases routing links away from certain pages.
If you need to raise your concern with regards to what I have changed, you can either append to this topic, or post a new one on my talk.
Currently, the following pages have been set up:
- Monster Index (Minimalist list of all monsters, their levels, and their HP)
- Monster Locations (List of areas and monsters that are found in them)
- FiestaWiki:Templates (where templates related to monsters can be found)
Requiring attention:
- Monster XP Rates (Needs updated EXP values)
- Mob Drops (Needs a make-over)
- The old table's data need to be recoded. There is now a table showing all grades of materials for reference on the page itself.
Changing the structure of this potentially huge section is as much as I can do as an individual. Unless I gain the assistance of a bot, I will not be updating all the individual monster pages.

Restructuring Quest List
Now that we have an new template and a new patch, it would be of great help if everybody could record down any quests they have received and write down all the quest rewards for that quest.
Also, the previous format for the quests needs to be erased and reformatted to match the new blue/pink format which is easier on the eyes. Blargh.

- I will add that I am advocating the break up of the list into sections, by level ranges. It is clear that the page is very long indeed, and it is taking a while to load. Everytime I view a diff, some 200 kB caches. Everytime I click on it, some 200 kB caches. Everytime I edit, some 100 kB loads. Everytime I click Preview, some 300 kB loads. Everytime I click Save Page, 200 kB loads. It gets annoying after a while. Not only will fragmenting it make it easier to scroll, it will also reduce bandwith and loading times. - Sure. I dunno what that means but the 100-200-300 numbers sound bad. xD. Isn't it already broken up into level ranges now? Ralath 18:21, 23 June 2008 (CDT)
- Everytime I load the page for a difference comparison, the server processes about 100 kB of data and sends me about 250 kB. Everytime I click on Preview, I upload about 95 kB of stuff to the server, which then process another 100 kB to send me another 250 kB PLUS the 92 kB worth of code. And then finally everytime I click Save, I send 92 kB away, and the server process 92 kB again and sends me 250 kB more. Because of the number of view diff - edit - save cycles I do on Quest List, it is starting to bug me.
The raw data of Quest List is over 92 kB, and the rendered page is over 250 kB in size. Icy 15:27, 24 June 2008 (CDT)
Monster XP rates
Why is there two monster xp rate tables--one that is "complete" and one that is "incomplete" (the bottom one). Can we just delete the bottom one after all the values have been transferred to the new one or does the one on the bottom hold some sort of significance?
Also, in the new table, the last column of XP values doesn't have bars so it looks like one giant column.Ralath 14:21, 26 June 2008 (CDT)
- So it happened that Firefox displays the table without showing any effect from the missing last column, and I was therefore unaware. It's a bit late now to append the extra column by hand (oooo so tedious) so unless someone feels very strongly about the outward appearance, it will be like that...
- I'm removing the bottom section. If someone wishes to add info, they can add fresh ones. If someone really wishes to, they can dig up the history. Icy 15:37, 26 June 2008 (CDT)
Single item pages
These pages annoy me to no end:
http://www.fiestafan.com/wiki/Lustered_Soul_Dust
http://www.fiestafan.com/wiki/Lustered_Gem_Dust
http://www.fiestafan.com/wiki/Glowing_Spirit_Dust
and etc. (See recent changes for a whole chunk of them.)
It will be a pain to create a new page for every single one of these items, not to mention the fact that there is not a lot of information that can be stored on a page like this, especially when we already have big categorical pages like these:
http://www.fiestafan.com/wiki/Potions
or
http://www.fiestafan.com/wiki/Gem_Dusts
Yeah... those pages aren't exactly filled in yet.... But, I played around with this one and I prefer this format a lot better. It'll make for bigger pages but... IMO, it becomes more streamlined. If you guys don't like it, just revert the edit. :3
http://www.fiestafan.com/wiki/Spirit_Dusts
And all I did there was just copy the information from the page SPECIFICALLY for Old Spirit Dust (which, I should mention, I had to go through the Quest List again to find) and just paste it right there.
So yeah.
If you guys like that better, it'll give me something to work on since the Quest List is basically done now.
Finally, could we get a link to the Materials page (it's a non-existent page, as of right now)? It's kind of tricky finding it and the way I do it involves going to go the Quest List to find something that involves Dust and then clicking the Dust link to access it. =/
