The purpose of the production skill of scrolls is to create scrolls that can buff yourself and others. Scroll production in the game of Fiesta is extremely important to in game economy because it allows the constant flow of scrolls and money around the game. The main uses of scrolls are to provide extra protection varying from increased defence to increased maximum health to faster movement, because of these bonuses scrolls are used in soloing and Kingdom Quests.

Difficulty

Scroll production is one of the more difficult skills to achieve successfully do to several reasons:

• The low drop rates of scroll material (especially Summoned Beast Leather (its a real pain in the arse)).
• The diffiucltly to leveling up from tiers (ex. Tier 1- 0-300, Tier 2- 1200-1700(meaning you have to make 1200 scrolls before tier 2).
• There are less overall monsters that drop scroll material then stone/potion material.

Because of these reasons I find it easier to go for easier production skill like stone production. However, if you wish for a challange then scroll production is the production skill for you.

Returns

Being one of the most difficult production skills the returns are therefore better than other skills. One thing about scrolls is there are always a need for them almost anywhere from Tanks to DPSs, from Kingdom Quests to Soloing. Therefore, you can always find a market for your unneeded scrolls and as long as you price your scrolls right you can create a rather large net profit. Besides even if you don't want to sell your scrolls to the people you can always use them yourself, I find scrolls infallible for grinding (in later levels it's very difficult to level up and grinding is refered to killing monsters just to level up) because they allow me to kill monsters that I couldn't kill before and kill creatures that I could kill before even faster.

Requirements

Scroll production is one of the most demanding of the skills. It requires you to put in large amounts of time to gather the materials in order to produce scrolls on mass. The time requirements are either farming or setting up shop somewhere or a mixture of both, either way it means a lot of time for you. Depending on your schedule and situation you may find it advantagous to pick one or the other.

Money is another requirement if you decide to set up shop and purchase drops that others have gathered, because of this it is recommended that you either sell anything that you do not require (potion materials/stone materials) or work on other production skills first. You can also use money from questing. But it doesn't really matter how you do it as long as you attain about 10 silver.

The Early Stages (Level 1-25)

Farming

Farming is one of the most reliable sources of getting the materials you need (because your getting it yourself). From what I have inferred there are about 3 times from level 1-25 that you can get a good amount of Summoned Beast Leather(LQ), Torn Leathers, Beast Leather (LQ) and Beast Dogtooth (LQ). I recommend that you have 2 or 3 characters going at one time to get about 3 times more materials or you can create many low level characters kill slimes until level 7 then use your storage to send your materials and repeat the process until you have enough materials.

The first "optimal" time for collecting scroll materials are at the very beginning. Slimes are the first creature types that you fight and they are also a scroll material dropping monsters. They have a moderate Summoned Beast Leather dropping rate (at least faster then other scroll material dropping monster) are rather easy to kill. The 2 creatures that you should kill are Speedy Slimes and the regular Slime.

The second good time to collect materials is at level 14-18 because Ratmen and Boogies both drop the required materials and boogies also drop Beast Dogtooth (LQ) which is a very important material for the later tier 1 scrolls.

The final time for the early stages is to kill Little Lizardmen because they have a high SBL drop rate and they are very easy to kill especially if you have a level 22 mage which can kill little lizardmen very easily with 3 hits.

Purchasing

As I said before you require about 10 silver to have the buying power to buy about 600 SBL (because thats how many you need for the whole tier 1 spectrum). The 4 best places for buying SBLs are the bridge to the Sea of Greed (Note: this area is only for Beast Dogtooth (LQ)), the Slime field in Roumen, the bridge in the Forest of Mist and the starting field in the Forest of Tides.

You should buy the SBL and Dogtooth for about 25-30 copper. If you have competition then setup your shop right next to them and buy the SBL for slightly more and you'll rack up the materials instead of him (Plus if you do setup shop next to him, he probably won't adjust his price because odds are that he's not there (unless he has no life)).
