Revision as of 19:59, 8 April 2008

I made this page to replace the Monster Locations section I was working on and hopefully to combine the other monster related guides in the wiki into one place. While I didn't delete anything, because that's not really my place, I will be updating this page instead the others though.

The mob drop portions are in a different format, but I don't think it's very difficult to update. I would recommend updating sections individually since the thing taken as a whole is fairly large. I chose to list creatures by level rather than by maps because by maps you have to update the same monsters multiple times, (once for each map its in). I also chose to go with a vertical format mostly because I like the way it looks better.

So there ya go, feel free to update or utterly decimate the entire thing if that's how you get your kicks :) (I have backups)

Monster Type Icons

Uploaded some monster type icons (Missing Undead and Ghost 'cause I'm not strong enough to go there yet). I'm not too good working them into the tables, so can someone do that? You can find them in my contributions page. HeatBurst 20:29, 21 October 2007 (CDT)

I went into the code to add some information and panicked when I saw the back code. I went ahead and converted the old tables. User side it's a bit easier to read but MUCH longer (the table of contents should help, though). Editor side, it's MUCH easier to work with. It now uses three Templates (the main, Monster, MonsterElite because it made sense to me to let them be altered differently, and Monsterpng, since the last 5 pictures use png instead of jpg, which REALLY messed me up :P) to hold the formating. New information can be added by just adding another line on the monster's section in this format:

Loc : Location Pot : Potion Production Scr : Scroll Production Sto : Stone Production Que : Quest items Use : Useables or random items like Lumps and Licenses Equ : Equipment Note : Quests that require a certain amount of them killed

Just make sure to add a number to the end (i.e. Loc1, Loc2, Loc3, ext.) so it'll show up. The template can handle up to 10 entries per section (potion items, 10 equipment, ext.) except for Location, which is 5 (are there really creatures that show up in more than 5 maps?). If more is needed it can be added in Template:Monster.

A few other things were added, like the fact that all of the items put in are made to form wiki links. I've met other games that had wikis with insane link power (look up a monster and see it's drops, which are linked to info on the item, which includes quests that require that item, which are links to the quest info itself). If you see an item with a red link, do a search to see if the item has a page: if so, edit the Monster info changing the name so it matches the web page (or set a redirect.. CAN we set redirects here?). If there isn't, mind making one if you can?

Hope this didn't completely mess up something already well established. Jacquin 5:48 23 November 2007 (EST)

I love the template :) Makes changing the appearance easy. Icy

Edits to Monster Info

2 things;

        1. The Little Lizardman is also found in the Forest of Tides, near the Smart Phino, Joker Kebings, and Prock Zones.
        2. The Grave Robber is also part of another quest given by Item Merchant Pey. The Quest is called "give me a pickax" and it requires you to kill Grave Robbers and retreive 10 pickaxes.

Aggression levels

Can we get some info as to what level monsters stop aggroing? All I can remember is that Grave Robbers stop once you hit 32, and even that might be off \=P
