math concerning hammers vs. maces

every 5str i bring up 1 end does that change on whats better for me. If so ...hammer or mace?

I just went with the Korean and Japanese sites advice... which is maces all the way.

i have a feeling the higher level you get, the more of an effect your base damage has than the weapon's damage, which means that the faster weapon would be better suited for DPS.

althought if i was rich, high levelled, and pvped often (0 out of 3 aint bad

) then i'd keep a hammer on a hotkey and switch to it for when i used bash, to maximize damage output.

I never calculated the damage like you, but from the "feel" of it, I seem to like hammer better at level 40.

My level 40 mace never crits. I might crit if I'm lucky, but I don't seem to notice much critting at all, whereas my level 40 hammer seems to crit enough for me to notice the difference.

But then again, my hammer is +4 while my mace was +3 - the damage is obviously better for my hammer, but the crit rate isn't affected by it, right? Since it didn't increase the crit rate for it after enhancement...

I crit ALOT with maces..maybe you just have bad luck? >.>
