I started reading this thread and had a list of responses, opinions, and ideas about this situation. But as I continued to read it became blatantly obvious that my opinion is not wanted because I am a memeber of G.

Before you start to disagree try reading the thread again. There are many posts about how G members go around binding together to spout a mindless party line in walls of text. As if in my nearly 40 years of life I haven't been able to create my own value set to live and rule my life by.

Its hard not to take things personally when there has been so much said about G in a negative way and Tequilla (hope i spelled your name right) you have stated your opinions in a very respectable way imho.

What's funny is my opinion might actually surprise everyone, but like I stated before it is blatantly obvious that a G members opinion is not wanted.

But, looking back on some threads and posts, I can understand why some of you might feel this way, why some of you reckon that having all mods in GG lacks diversity and will become a bit biased.

I took a moment to step into a regular members shoe, and I realise that if I had been a regular member - non GG - I might feel the same way. Though I doubt I'd be negatively affected by it, I guess I can understand.

One thing I'll say though - there has been quite a few issues that had risen up before in the staff forum, and a few of those incidents have been conflict between the mods and a particular GG member. Let's just say, the way we had handled the issue was not biased in any way (well it can't really be biased, since there was a clash in perspectives), but we did not simply do as we were told because the person was in GG.

I cannot reveal any more information than that since it is a private issue. But I just want to say that because I know you guys don't know it since you have no access to the staff forum. You have not seen all the workings behind FiestaFan, so I understand why you would think GG may have some sort of influence over the forum.

Of course, I am not allowed to reveal any information, so I cannot provide "proof", so I am just going to cross my fingers and hope that there are still members out there that has some faith in us and trust us on that. Dx

Just, in the end.. GG or not.. male or female.. old or new member.. we treat everyone as fairly and as equally as we can.

Well, in response to Enraya, I haven't seen any place where G___G ( how many underscores anyway? ) have exerted influence. It's just that it can if it wants to. Like suppose there's you online in-game, and let's say so is Yosei (neither of you take this personally please, I'm just giving an example). You both are just chatting normally, and the topic shifts to the FF forums. Enraya mentions some person xxx she doesn't like in here, because of _____ reason. Yosei acknowledges it, and sometime later, she logs in to FF and looks at the type of posts xxx made. Let's assume, she didn't like the posts either, well, she has the power to ban xxx.
Now I'm not saying any of you would act in this way, because I trust you. The problem is that not everyone trusts you. Let's assume some new guy vasu619 (yet another example) signs up, and takes a look at the list of mods/admins etc etc. He then finds some posts by these mods, and then sees they're all in G___G. Then he thinks to himself "better be careful around this G___G guild...". And then he's going to think twice before he wars G___G for whatever reason. Basically, it's going to make him uncomfortable around G___G members.
Let's suppose, this vasu619 guy passes some rude remark about Yosei (example) in-game. Now, nobody is perfect, and even if Yosei tries not to ban him, give him an infraction...etc. in these forums, the general feeling of dislike will be there. A non G___G member will at the most rant in the All The Rage forum, while a G___G member can make his/her displeasure more well-known amongst his/her guildies, who just "happen" to be mods on these forums.

Anyways, like Bla~ahs said, it's all about trust. I have that trust. But does everybody else?

Like I said, I can see both sides of the equation. But the thing is, GG has no real power over what mods decide. Other people might not see it, but we honestly don't. I can rant about whoever I want in the guild forums, the mods will look at it, but they won't act against that person because the mods here all pretty much try to keep a neutral view.

I see what you're getting at though, and like Blaaaahs said, if I was non-GG I might feel the same way too.

But also like lvra said, there really aren't that many solutions to this. Get a non-GG mod I guess? The FF community is pretty small, and we already have quite a few mods o-o
So maybe if we can get FF to expand a little, we can have a non GG mod xD Just so people feel more at peace~?

Again - choosing mods have NOTHING to do with guilds. If we choose another mod outside of GG - then it just shows that we think guilds and moderators have an relationship. No, we are not doing that. Guilds mean nothing to us when we choose moderators. I am sure Keetos/Entropy wouldn't have allowed us to select the moderators if they were not up for the job. When we select mods, we do look at whether they have pass moderating experience or not. Sure, it'd be a bonus, but we don't only look at that. We look at how active they are on the site - hence maybe the top posters? We look at how well they can mingle with the majority of FF members at the time.

As a G____G member I'd like to say: What the hell. We got nothing to do with how FF runs. Tbh, we don't really care. I mean we do. But we just care about it as much as you guys do. None of the GG members tried to butt into our moderator actions. Trust me, or don't. Again - it is your choice to believe me or not.

That's a valid point at this time I think. Is it valid to renominate the current moderators' just because people feel it's unfair? If you can provide real evidence of when a moderator from GG will act in an unfair and biased way, then I won't argue. Until then, I don't think the appeal to change moderators will be taken seriously. If you think all the subjective views and feelings shown in this thread are adequate proof of unfairness in the system, I suggest you step back and re-evaluate things a little more.

I don't think anyone said you have. We*well at least all of my posts said* you could*this is the keyword in all my statements*. As for the others I can't really speak on. Influence isn't only something you have done its also something you are capable of doing. Thats all I've said.

As for a change of moderators like I said before I don't think it will help anything. This just seems to be popping up because of what happened over the past few days. It won't really help anything IT WILL SIMPLY....cause larger rifts in the community.

@The Mods of course we have faith in you guys. I've always said you guys do a good job. Most of you have been since the beginning. I never seen one of you do something to abuse what power you do have. The Moderator situation isn't something that bothers me I can't speak for others but as me this is something I am fine with.

kk, I have tried staying out of this thread. But, I feel that I must at least state this. To give ya'll kind of an inside view. Several months back there was a member on this forum that was getting close to going over the line in almost every post they wrote. 2 Mods felt that they did cross the line and that they should have more done to them. 2 Mods felt that simple warnings and infractions was enough. 1 Mod stayed nuetral. Even after this person PM'd 1 mod and cussed them out, that 1 Mod could NOT take action against the member without the consent of the other Mods. It was discussed in the Staff Forum and decided by ALL that still simple infraction was a just punishment. At the same time, several GG members were also upset about this one member and made several posts in the GG private forums about them. That still did NOT sway the decision of the Mods in anyway, otherwise they would have been banned. We have procedures that we follow. It starts with discussions, leads to warnings, leads up to infractions, and only sometimes as it actually led to a ban and with the exception of spam-bots it is always a temp-ban.
There has already been 1 GG member that while in GG, was temp-banned and another that was given an infraction. Just being in GG does not change anything and does not sway anything.
Also, recently a GG member voiced their displeasure in terms of a different member. Because that member had not gone far enough to even warrant a warning, the GG member was told to simply put that person on their "Ignore" list option. This was the SAME response that was given to a non-gg member several weeks ago when they came to us mods with thier displeasure of another member on the forums.

But, the simple fact is, some people are going to feel a certain way no matter how many examples we give, and nothing is going to change that. that is up to them and that is fine. we know this and accept this.

This forum is never going to be able to make everyone happy all the time. And that is just a fact of life. The Mods on this forum are not perfect, nor we do we portray ourselves as perfect. We have actually made some decisions and then after discussions, changed our decisions. Some warnings have been reversed, some infractions have been reversed. We are not perfect, just like no other member on this forum is perfect.
