I did this math and posted it at the outspark forums (i'm adamwest). My results were actually quite interesting so i decided to post them here.

This isn't entirely accurate, as it doesn't take into account mastery levels. But as you can see, the difference in DPS is negligible. Also it should be taken into account I'm a pure end cleric. Some clerics with end/str builds may have a high enough base damage to utilize the faster attack rate and the mace may possibly out DPS the hammer.
As far as the aim disparity, we're talking a difference of 9 measley points. you wont notice any difference on yellow mobs and if you are grinding on red mobs you should be fully scrolled anyways.
on the surface, the hammer looks to be the obvious winner as far as crit rate, however with the attack rate difference, the gap is smaller than it first appears.
a hammer will hit 46.1 times in 60 seconds at 5% crit rate, 2.3 of those will crit. A mace on the other hand will hit 54.5 times in 60 seconds. at 3% crit rate, 1.6 of those will crit. So if we extrapolate this information out that means you will crit about 3 more times with a hammer every 5 minutes than with a mace. now I am only talking about time spent actually attacking, and not including the use of any skills as that throws off the timing and is too hard to calculate for.
And this difference gets even smaller as outside crit boosters are added in. Lets say you have 1% crit earrings, 25 spr for an added 5% crit, and a completed grave robber liscense for an added 1% crit on your weapon. now the mace crits 5.45 times a minute, the hammer crits 5.532 times per minute. that added crit rate is now nothing.
So what does this mean in the end? the differences between the two are so small it doesn't matter what you chose. Get whichever one you think looks cooler.

now this is all based off of level 20 with no str added using level 20 from the shop weapons. i plan on crunching the numbers again at level 30.
I know that the difference in damage between the mace and hammer gets bigger and bigger with each set, but i want to see if it's enough to offset the natural boost in base damage the cleric get from levelling up (i'm assuming it is since clerics have such low base damage to begin with)
I also know that the aim difference gets bigger with each level, and as later in the game you start grinding more and more on red mobs, it may play more of a difference than it does at level 20.
