There isnt that separation because we live under a democratic government.. where it's made up of people..

though I am hoping that in another generation's time things will change...

He's talking about here in the US, where the concept of wall between church and state was rather important to the original framers of the Constitution, and played a heavy role in the crafting of the First Amendment.

And good luck trying to talk to Jik about his "Christianity". He doesn't seem to have a firm enough theology to actually address. His gold standard, the Bible, specifically speaks about the sins of homosexuality, yet he washes it away with a few token verses. It just goes to show what you can show the Bible "says" by cherry-picking your verses.
