I don't really know any better way to 'splain than has already been said :/
It helps with research into protein folding.

My project seems to be stuck at 347/1500 for some reason. =/ Guess I'll leave it on overnight to see how it goes. Hope it becomes unstuck. Dx

It's been almost 12 hours and my folding proceeded to 420. God it's slow. D: Maybe it's because I'm uploading.

How someone explained it to me was... (i hope this is correct, but it made sense to me)

Is that Folding@Home uses your computer's idle resources (extra left over RAM and stuff) to do calculations, and when it's finished, they send the results back to their server thingy.. whereever that is...
