You can't get lumps from mining. Well, I never got them like that before.

I've never encountered that one b'fore.(I know something about being a hobo due to enhancement addiction though. )

You were in and it loaded and everything and you got kicked out?

Kicks you out back into town or disconnects from the server or the whole client crashes? I dunno I've had it get stuck at the loading screen a few times if I'm doing something like buying stones or taking/ending a quest just as it starts loading the KQ map.
