If you noticed, the leader of our church sent out an apology. and it was the leader of THEIR church who beat the shit out of the guy, and then called them servants of their version of satan when they decided they didnt wanna stick around. we're talking widescale stuff from the top of the foodchain, here, not just a few corrupt officials.

Did you even bother to watch any of the videos i posted? Ms. Magoo has actual experience with the Co$, and the protesters illustrate several good points. Please watch them before continuing with this debate, as much of my indignation towards scientology comes from them.

And it's not so much the fact that I'm trying to hijack your threads. If other people were being as openly hypocritical with their belief systems, I'd point that out as well.

Edit: Just to clarify, I'm not defending the Scientologists in any manner. They're a bunch of shady con-men that I wouldn't trust to tell me the time. That applies to any person that tries to tell me someone else is "holier" than I am.

i was speaking of JPII. i dont know what i think of Benedict. i agree that organized religion makes people sheep, however, which is why i dont call myself a complete catholic. im a free-thinking Catholic. I share catholic beliefs, but disagree with some of the heirarchal figures in the church, who have been tainted over time, and with some of the teachings of the church, which i believe have been distorted. i believe in the teachings of Jesus. Not the Pope. You'll obviously get corruption in any hierarchal system, obviously. However, Scientology has gone much farther than most religions. i dont think the pope has an assasination squad to take out every atheist out there who preaches against them. if they did, half the internet would be barren.

That's exactly what I'm saying. If you don't think they're right on social issues, why associate with them at all? Why would they be wrong on one thing and be right on another? It's an issue of credibility.
