Familiarity breeds contempt. If you're around something all of the time, you don't think of it as special any more. I haven't made it out to D.C. yet, but I plan on it. It's one of the more historically important places in the US. From what I gather, though, aside from the monuments and functional governmental buildings, D.C. is an absolute cesspool of the highest order.
Of course, I just might enjoy it. People say the same thing about New Orleans and I love the city, as long as I don't have to live there. Four or five times a year is enough, heh.

We used to have field trips in 6th grade... until some girl flashed a bunch of guys in a tunnel (we were at some nature place, one of those exhibits you climb through and stuff) and they proceeded to grope her.
Security got it on tape. That was the last year we went to that camp. lmao.
