1. Um, no, the villagers are aware of society's values. They even have TVs, police, etc. All of them form this little tradition of preying on passer-bys.
2. Because you said "Go to hell", you became a target.

1. ok, i didnt know that, i've never seen that show.
2. i think what i was called warrants a bit of anger. me telling him to go to hell for cussing at me doesnt give him the right to push me around and call me names.

^^; i guess it matters what kind of bullying your talking about. It definately matters what kind of person you are.
for me, im 12 and i actually get bullied(well more physical) by my friends.. i mean i know they are just playing around but they seriously hurt me.. (not like punching..but like twisting my arm and pulling my hair =/) im not exactly pretty or smart, and definately not that social.
when it comes to bullying with words, i just realize that they must be lonely/ have anger issues, dont understand how its sucks to be bullied, or they might have been bullied and want someone to share the pain O.0
as for physical i have no idea since i dont really have a comeback for that X_X

I've never really been bullied before, but I think instead of acting on the bully first you should try changing your attitude. For example take revenge on them in little ways.. answers questions they can't, or solving a math quiz faster, or beating them in the mile, things like that. Even if you're emo, you should feel good if you do this.. o_o
And er, if they pick on you for doing those things, tell them to get a life. >_> Have some friends with you that will support you. Even if they don't say anything, just having backup makes the bullies more wary.

I can't really say I have the answer to your problem since I'm not quite sure what you're asking in the first place.
But I agree with Hrae when he says that it's about self-confidence. Maybe self-confidence isn't the right word here. But I do think you have to get past the point where you're put off by every little thing that the bullies do. If you become upset at what the bullies do, they win. All they want is to get a reaction out of you. You have to realize that what they do is because they have nothing better to do so they have to pick on someone in order to make themselves feel better. When you show that you don't really care what they do, they lose interest.
@cillia: Have you told your friends they need to stop hurting you? If you haven't, then tell them. If you have, then maybe it's time to evaluate who your true friends are. Joking is no longer joking if you're actually getting hurt.

Kid... I'm 18, and what I've learned about the world so far is that life is not about being good/king/passionate to each other. Well, maybe it is at some point, but I've found that my top priority in this world is SURVIVAL. I mean, as a 13 year old guy you live with your parents right? That means that you don't have to worry about your future anytime soon (unless you want to), because your parents provide you with food and shelter. You don't have to worry about things like getting an good education, having a job to help you pay tuition, and passing your exams so that 5 grand you paid doesn't go to waste. You don't have to worry about having a career plan, or starting a family, or getting that promotion at work... I could go on forever like this, but my key point is that you cannot expect difficulties and troubles to avoid you. YOU HAVE TO AVOID THEM, OR FIGHT BACK. But avoiding is not always possible, and doing that too often can cause the problems grow more big and more persistent. So sooner or later you will have to take action.
My point is... You cannot expect problems to disappear on their own, and you cannot always depend on others to help you. When you start a life and move away from you parents (hopefully), most of the time you will be ALONE. ON YOUR OWN. PERIOD. So if you don't learn how to deal with problems like this and how to defend yourself now, then you won't get very far in life.

When I get bullied, like people call me names and stuff:
I either ignore it,
laugh about it,
or
tell them I don't care

When that happens, I let that go...like I care...
Also, I do remember what my health teacher told me. He remembers when he had bullies. Then since he grew up and became successful, the joke was on them. He saw the bullies when they grew up, and he pulled over in his new Mercedes, and said, "Remember me? Yeah, I was the *insult they said*"
I wanna do that to my bullies, so I just ignore it, and become successful... Hopefully this helps...

1. Jesus once said "love thy enemy". i dont know your religion, nor am i trying to force my religion upon you, but that's what im trying to make my philosophy. i think the only way i'll ever be satisfied with my life is if i can be the bigger person when that stuff happens to me, and just turn the other cheek.
2. you'd be suprised how much i worry about the future XD
3. i know i can't lean on others. i just wish i would be left ALONE. it's a large group of different kids who make fun of me, mostly because im different. i have rather long hair, and im quiet. im not gonna change myself though. not for them.

Lamenting the fact that some people are dicks is an exercise in futility. It sounds like you're an easy mark. Until you learn to either deal with it or not let it bother you, you'll just be a ticking time bomb waiting for a little thing to push you over the edge into a Columbine type thing.

i wouldnt do something like that. im not a time bomb. their opinions dont matter THAT much. it's just an annoyance. and it hurts to think that mankind is in such a predicament where stuff like this is just considered normal. i wouldnt ever kill anyone else or myself over something like that. hell, i wouldnt hurt anyone anyway. i just don't understand the hate. i know violence with violence only equals violence. i've read biographies of king and Lennon, i've read alot of the Bible... after all of what people in the past have done for peace, it seems we're just right back at the start...
