They're dropped by higher level human types - the easiest one I can think off of the top of my head are CP prisoners.

If you have any Vanishing Signs and tier 1 alchemy stones, and you are on the Teva server then I can compose them for you and make you Sign of Trace. It takes 14 vanishing signs to make 1 Sign of trace. Just let me know.

Hobs are all over in vine tomb and they dont drop too often but you do get them.
