But they are not utterly dependent upon the parent to GIVE them life and sustain them. After the child is born, he relies more upon the parent for financial support and physical support than anything else. Not so for the fetus.
At any rate, if your definition of when life begins is if the fetus has a beating heart, then that doesn't happen until approx. 5 weeks in.

and even so, should we not take care of the smallest and weakest of being even MORE diligently than the strong ones? and no, my deffinition is the life of it. the fact that it's a human being. you can take the baby out and throw it in the trash... but that, to me, at least, seems wrong. im not going to speak for you.
