Old player coming back

Hey all, I used to play Fiesta a while back, but had to stop playing due to RL issues at the time .. but, I just reinstalled and decided to start fresh on a new character. I decided fighter would be somewhat easy, so I chose one of those.

I have a few questions about the game. First of all, how can a new player make some decent money? I remember buying/collecting mats and making scrolls and stones and selling them, I used to make a good amount of money doing that, but I don't remember how to do it. Should I just sell my mats to other players for now? Or should I hoard them for later? Also, I remember it was hard to solo on a fighter mainly because of all the potions/stones you had to eat to stay alive and how hard it was to pay for all the potions/stones I needed. Is it easier to get money/potions for cheap, or should I just roll a cleric like I used to play to stay alive easier?

That's all I really need to know for now ... I'm sure I'll come up with some more questions in the future. Thanks in advance!
