Hehe I couldn't agree more. But I think here's the optimization part - use me as an example:

I noticed that when I solo, I tend to lose more hp than sp, which makes sense... I don't have enhanced armour and I take some damage. Straight forward enough.
Conversely, I use a lot more sp than hp when I'm in a party with a fighter or a cleric (don't need to burn sp as much).

So you can choose anywhere on the spectrum to suit how you play. My preference is going with more sp - skill spamming = more fun!

Solo-wise I've tended to still burn SP than HP - if you've seen me on Teva, I'm usually running away like a sissy from a Harkan that's bleeding/poisoned/has a bad flu (disease). Losing about 80 damage per second really punches out a Harkan even if I'm not shooting it, which is useful when I'm shooting back.

From this I still take more SP damage than HP damage - I've got too much END gear for my own good anyways. >_>;
