kids these days...
A different thread I was reading made me think of this...
A while back my son...who is 9...asks me “dad, if we didn’t have the grill and the microwave was broken, how would we cook hot dogs?â€
…well, after cleaning the couch due to wetting myself from uncontrollable laughter, I asked him to think about it. After a few minutes of pontification he looks at me quizzically and says with a questioning voice “the toaster?â€
/pictures smoking hot dogs poking out of the top of our toaster
-more uncontrollable laughter-
so I had to explain that "in the old days" we had to boil our hot dogs in water on the stove.
I only wish I could post a picture of the complete and utter look of disbelief on his face...priceless
A co-worker of mine had a similar story about his daughter who was 4 getting frustrated at not being able to "pause the TV" at her friends house (She has had a TIVO her whole life, but her friend was not so advantaged)
Anyone else have similar funny stories of ‘youngins or from their own youth?

Not so funny, but . . .
I still have a handful of animated shows on VHS - have several dozen on DVD, but still have a handful of VHS that I just never replaced with DVD coz they were for much younger children and the two older grandkids didn't care for them anymore when I started the process of replacing =VHS with DVD several years ago . . . anyway, my 3-yr old granddaughter browses the movie selection in my den and she has discovered some of these VHS she wants to watch (My Neighbor Totoro, some Winnie the Pooh's and a couple of Thomas the Tank Engines).
Now heres the thing with this 3-yr old - she will choose a movie and we have to watch it several times - in a row - sometimes as many as 6 times in a row. And that's all fine and dandy, until it is a VHS. She gets so so angry when I cannot immediately restart that video. She just does not understand the "rewind" concept.

Oh, you don't understand. . . that is just 6 hours of that particular movie. When she has had her fill of that one she picks another one that we may watch 2, 3, 4 or more times in a row.
When she is here the DVD/VHS player is running roughly 12 or more hours on each day. Lots and lots of cats, rats, dogs and pooh bears!
