kids these days...
A different thread I was reading made me think of this...
A while back my son...who is 9...asks me “dad, if we didn’t have the grill and the microwave was broken, how would we cook hot dogs?†…well, after cleaning the couch due to wetting myself from uncontrollable laughter, I asked him to think about it. After a few minutes of pontification he looks at me quizzically and says with a questioning voice “the toaster?†/pictures smoking hot dogs poking out of the top of our toaster -more uncontrollable laughter- so I had to explain that "in the old days" we had to boil our hot dogs in water on the stove. I only wish I could post a picture of the complete and utter look of disbelief on his face...priceless A co-worker of mine had a similar story about his daughter who was 4 getting frustrated at not being able to "pause the TV" at her friends house (She has had a TIVO her whole life, but her friend was not so advantaged) Anyone else have similar funny stories of ‘youngins or from their own youth? |
Not so funny, but . . .
I still have a handful of animated shows on VHS - have several dozen on DVD, but still have a handful of VHS that I just never replaced with DVD coz they were for much younger children and the two older grandkids didn't care for them anymore when I started the process of replacing =VHS with DVD several years ago . . . anyway, my 3-yr old granddaughter browses the movie selection in my den and she has discovered some of these VHS she wants to watch (My Neighbor Totoro, some Winnie the Pooh's and a couple of Thomas the Tank Engines). Now heres the thing with this 3-yr old - she will choose a movie and we have to watch it several times - in a row - sometimes as many as 6 times in a row. And that's all fine and dandy, until it is a VHS. She gets so so angry when I cannot immediately restart that video. She just does not understand the "rewind" concept. |
SIX hours in a row???? X___________X
Even if the movie is only 30 minutes... that's 3 hours of the same stuff.... Dx |
well...i have this 6 yr old cousin who is kinda like Loki's grand daughter but mines very fond of music...
like everytime we went out to eat or just go anywhere...we have a Mamma Mia Soundtrack which was burned by my aunt(by request of the kid of course.lol). and we have to listen to the same music for at least half an hour going to our destination and half an hour going back at home! lol "Mamma mia! here I go Again, My my, how can I resist him!" :sigh: Dancing Queen...aaaaaaagggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!! :sigh: |

When she is here the DVD/VHS player is running roughly 12 or more hours on each day. Lots and lots of cats, rats, dogs and pooh bears! |
My cousins raided my dad's attic, and found his supply of old, old records.
They thought they were flattened frisbees at first, until I corrected that notion. The looks on their faces were priceless. |
LOL
I have two younger cousins, one is 9 years old (girl) and the other is 6 (boy), I think.. I get a bit mixed up with their ages. But anyway. One day in the car, the 9 year old wanted to tell me and Hessah an embarrassing story of the 6 year old (she always like to spill out other people's embarrassing stories). But before she did, she asked her younger brother "can I tell them??" and he was like "nooo nooo don't tell themm!!!! nooo". She paused for a sec, and then was like, "OKAY I'LL TELL THEM ANYWAY". And she went on telling us his embarrassing moments while he was yelling in the background "nuuuu nuuuu" LOOOOOOL. |
