Chinese menu vs "American Menu"

I'm going to a restaurant for lunch in a couple of hours that supposedly has a Chinese menu and an American Menu. Though language based as well, I am being told that the Chinese menu has more authentic dishes on it while the American menu has the American style food on it.

I want to order off the Chinese menu but don't know how to read Chinese.

Does anyone have a suggestion of what to look for to order off of the Chinese menu? I like hot and spicy stuff.
