Perhaps they're meaning the one for the TV and the one for the PS2.

Making the PS2 as the stand was pretty smart! But PS2 is a last-gen console, so.... that's not so smart. Making it a PS3 would've made quite a bit more expensive, but 2-3 hundred more dollars for something more useful is worth it I think, 'cuz like... I mean, you know.... the... stuff.... and I dunno how to explain shush >_>

Duh. How else are they supposed to sell old out-of-date consoles? Slap on some useless thingamagig, give it a new name and sell it.
Same practices are used in businesses around the world, such as pharmaceutical drugs. When sales fall low, modify the drug molecule with some oblique method, call it "Drug name v2.0", claim that it is better in some way than the previous version, and sell it.
