Need Help From Xbox 360/PS2 experienced people

So since the kids broke their PS2, my parents came to me, asking if I'd give the kids my PS2 since I don't play it as much as they did theirs (all of the ps2s they had... were mine). I said no because this is an oh too familiar situation. They'd just break this one. The kids have broken a total of 7 consoles.

So then I got an idea...

I said if I give my PS2 to the kids... they get me an xbox 360.
(I know I know... price wise it isn't an even deal, but in the long run... I don't think they'd wanna buy another xbox 360)

Here's how the conversation with my mom went...

Mom: why are you grinning?
Me: You know how you wanted me to give the kids my playstation 2?
Mom: yeah
Me: How about, if I give them my playstation 2.. you get me an xbox 360.
Mom: But the kids wanted an xbox 360.
Me: Yeah... and they'd break it in a month.
Mom: Why do you want one?
Me: It has better games for me than my playstation 2..
Mom: The kids would be so jealous of you.
(awkward silence for a minute)
Me: So what do you think?
Mom: I'll think about it. It might not be right away, but before Christmas.

FYI.. I don't have a job, my "job" is babysitting the kids. They don't pay me. They owe me.

But I don't think she's convinced. I need help convincing her why I > kids when it comes to having an xbox 360. I don't know too much about the xbox 360, and I don't plan on pimping it out. So for a bit I'll be a bit of an xbox 360 nub.

I may email everyones reasons to her.

Why xbox360?Why not a PS3 or a Wii?

PS3 can play PS2 games, and Wii is just fun...

Xbox360 will get red rings of death. I don't really know good games for the box except for Halo and other shooting games.

Ummm..convincing your mom... not that good at convincing but,

Do chores around the house or something that will impress them...

Hope that works...

just tell her that the game library of xbox360 is much more for the ADULT gamers...suggest that Wii is more for kids...but i think that would give her the idea not to buy you the xbox anymore. lol!

and why not PS3? im sure it would overcome xbox in the near future...just look at the PS2 - Xbox competition way back.. PS2 dominates Xbox at the end...

The ps3 is a lot more than the xbox 360, and so far the xbox 360 has better games. And just no to Wii... those things sell too quick and I KNOW the kids would bug me to play that.

What are some good games on the box? I can only think of Halo, Gears of War, any others.

Can't think of any good games for the ps3. Is Resistance and MGS4 good?

Yeah, kids love the Wii... If I only had a Wii...

How do you break a PS2? By dropping it?

It just died lol. There's always a kid playing videogames in this house. One gets one gets off, one gets on. I can't quite remember the others, but one of them, one of the kids was running into the room, the playstation was on the floor, the kid stepped right on it while running.

Suggest that the strength of the next-gen systems lies not only in enhanced graphics but in the connectivity that playing with other people brings.

Kids for one may not be safest/have the best judgement in online interactions thusly why the XBOX should go to you, the mature gamer instead, and that being of their age, they may not have the faculties necessary to fully enjoy the system. Last part may be phooey depending on the kid but I'm sure you can relate.
