Alchemy skill numbers

What does the number (1) mean and what does the bar (2) mean? I notice that the number in my bar go up by 1 every time I make something.

Oh and where do I get the skill to learn shield increase (tier 1)? I can't find it from skill master Ruby (and yup I clicked the arrows to check the other pages), unless I'm blind again...

Basically when you make elrues, you get 1 exp point in alchemy, and in order to use Xir, you have to get 500 points otherwise you will never be able to learn the skill. But, due to a minor bug, if you bought Lix skill during CB1, you can use it to make Lix, no matter what your alchemy EXP is.

I tried it myself, and it works!

Ah thanks! I thought that's how it works too, then I saw that I can make Lix when I don't even have 200 points yet so I got confused. Thanks for clearing that up~

Haha, my stonemaker account had already bought all the upgrades.

So I can make all Tier 1 and Tier 2 stones.

Let me just say that a Tier 2 Lix sells for 2.4s street price...
