Crossbow vs. Bow

if you have a spr build go with Xbow. xbow has higher crit rating and higher base damage.

would you rather crit for 600 every 15 shots or crit for 800 every 10? go with xbow, utilize your build.

If you're critting for 800, you're fighting mobs that are way too weak for you.

My build is going to be:
20 str
15 dex
and teh rest in Spr

And ims ticking with Bow, mainly because I prefer my attacks hitting and not doing much than my attack missing but doing more damage when they DO hit

Also i prefer the attack rate on the bow

I'm exacltly the opposite, I want the big damage with the crits and anyway it attack rate is only .3 less than the bow so unless your really strong we're gonna land the same hits on a mob, I think. After how long would you get an extra shot in?

Anyway when I hit a crit that might make up for the extra shot I might have taken.

I don't think crossbows will miss all that much. From the loads of dex we get from being an archer and if we invest some ourselves, crossbows shouldn't miss that much. My friend and I both started at the same time to shoot one mob, me with a crossbow and he with a bow. His shots started getting faster than mine, and he aggroed, but I still did more damage overall. >.>
Crossbows = 2x more damage than bows
Bows = 2x more smexeh than crossbows

Well this is wad i found out
taking fron the lvl 20 bow n xbow we see
dmg 34~49 and 67~88
and we all know the speed
given the time of 154 seconds
a bow fires out
140 shots and a total of 4760~6860 dmg with 6 shots critical which is another 204~294 dmg extra(not counting spr cuz of different builds u guys going)
and a xbow does
110 shots with a total of 7370~9680 dmg with 7 shots critical which is another 469~616 dmg extra (read above)

All calculations are done by myself and not taken
this does not inculde monster defense

but if u get a bow with +6 n a xbow with +3
just use the bow xD

I have changed my mind, at lvl 40 I am getting the Xbow not the bow.
Mainly because after looking at the damage differance between Xbow and Bow at lvl 50 the differance is like 200 damage, so the Xbow has sorta won me over.

I can out damage a bow user no matter how fast he or she is shooting. I've actually noticed that they do start shooting faster as time passes. Don't know if it's just me and the internet suddenly had less lag. O.o

If I'm in an AoE party and the cleric or another person besides the tank takes aggro, I can shoot even just the DoT skills and pull the aggro away from them. Of course I think bows look so much better, can't win me over just because of the damage crossbows deal.
