I've found the English language Al Jazeera to be one of the more consistently in-depth sources of information. Certainly some of their biases can be seen, but that can be said of any information source. They don't cover a LOT of international news, but I've found for American domestic issues, Christian Science Monitor to also be consistently informative. Same goes for Knight Ridder.
