Dishes
One of my nephews is 11 years old. All he does around the house is clean up his messes in his room (he shares a room, so he doesn't do all the cleaning), and helps rake leaves. He's done the dishes twice, no wait, he did a few dishes... first time, he only did the silverware, second time, half the dishes, then went to "take a break" and never came back.
I personally think at 11, he should be contributing his help around the house more. But when I ask him to do the dishes, he acts like I'm asking him to eat a bug. I think the dishes are something simple for him to do, but really helpful.
I constantly tell my mom this, but she's got it set in her head that he is still "little", and not ready for house chores.
Do you guys agree?
