I hate you Australia (That statement is 70% seriousness and 30% Joke)

Here is why

Catastrophic Fire Warning for pretty much most of South Australia and a nice ambient temperature of 42c in my bedroom which is far away from the only air con in the house. I would really love to go to Europe right now....

As you can see in the picture there is currently a cyclone in the state to the left of me which the left overs of the cyclone are due to blow over the city I live in tonight which will drastically cool the city down tonight.

We had some connections up in the top half of WA..

They had a 52 Degree day about 2 weeks ago when we talked to them..

52 degrees Centigrade is 125 degrees Fahrenheit. That can't be right, can it? I mean, yeah, it's a drier heat than around here, but damn. They must have been baking.

Well the max recorded there was 45... but 50 degrees does happen..

Port Hedland isnt exactly desert area too.. it's quite close to the coast... scary..

Adelaide is making a name for itself in Australia becoming the hottest city in Australia during summer.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology (The main weather forecasters in Australia) The highest temperature ever recorded in Australia is 50.7c in you guessed it Oonadatta, South Australia which was in 1960

Australia also holds the world record for the longest heatwave (Temperature above 100f) which is 160 consecutive days of temperatures exceeding 100f (37.8c)

I'm sure they excluded all the hottest "town" when they say Adelaide is the hottest "city"...

but yeah it's crazy.. does ur power supply get cut out often?

Its just compared to all the capital cities in Australia.

Well so far no there hasn't been a single power outage from this hot weather so far this summer. But the heatwave at the start of the year we got a power outage on the hottest day during that heatwave. That's when pretty much all of Adelaide had their Air Cons running at near highest setting and the power plants in Adelaide couldn't handle it and got overloaded.

But I'm laughing at that article you posted because it says that the hottest Feb Temp had been broken reaching 49.4c there but if you look at the article I posted 3 days later Mardie also in WA hit 50.5c

Oh woops skim read FTL HAHA I assumed Marble Bar is in SA...

But Mardie and Nyang are not all that far away.. so yeah that year they had some pretty horrible heat.. surely we've had worst since 1998?

Or it has started becoming the norm...?
