My opnions on clerics

My opinion on clerics is this. since i play as a cleric i know what im talking about. the common sterotype is that clerics are just heal, buff, and rev bots. DEAD WRONG. clerics can be just as valuable as any other class in the damage and the tanking department as long as the person whos playing the cleric knows what their doing. for example when im partying and the tank goes down usually ill tank then rev the fighter. this works 8/10 times. and after i rev the guy everything goes back to normal. and also theres no wrong build for a cleric.(unless you put all INT

) anyways you can be an all END cleric and still be use full. plus the extra health that goes with END isnt a bad bonus. so i guess my point is a cleric can be whatever he/she wants to be... except a good ranger XD.

hmm... lol u guys only have like 1 combat ability...
when your soloing its okay if your pure str or str spr.
but you guys just cant match and mage or archers dps in a party

I agree, that's how I play my cleric... people say "making a hammer +9 is useless" and i think they're totally wrong!

I'm good at soloing, and I can be in a party to heal.. or Duo with a fighter and I can do just as much dmg!

Clerics can multi-task.. you just need to be fast and coordinate well (which I am still learning...

)

Cleric is not an easy class to play if you know how to make use of ALL your abilities!

EDIT: we cant match a mage or archer, then we go into healing mode (it also depends on wat u're training on)... but we can most likely match a fighter, and I can do fight + heal while he stuns...

My cleric is Crit built as well, so I actually do a lot of dmg through crit

You make it sound as if full END is bad

. A full END cleric is the most useful to a party, more so than a full SPR or full STR cleric. I feel full END is the best support build there is for a cleric. 25 SPR, remaining END works well too.

And I totally agree with cleric tanks! Being pure END, I usually have more def than a 2h DD fighter of my level.

The reason people prefer that clerics heal, buff, and revive only is because when the cleric starts smashing mobs, some mages begin to feel insecure, as mages commonly attract the most aggression from a mob. Many clerics do not and cannot react fast enough when 20-30 mobs suddenly lose interest in the tank and all attack the mage and/or archer, as it happens in the 6x battleground.

Also, the idea of "I'm not a heal bot" has led to the new generation of clerics that think they are better for doing damage rather than keeping the party alive. It's not to say that clerics can't do damage; it's to say that clerics are traditionally the healer, and many people feel more secure with them fulfilling that role rather than running off to go hit mobs.

I am a retired level 62 cleric as of January 1st, 2008.

If you want to be a damage dealer or tank, don't be a cleric. :|

Yeah, a cleric can tank and multitask, but they will never be a better DD than other classes. It's not how the class is built. If you can tank and heal at the same time, do so xD Any cleric can DD and still be counted for a good DD as long as they are not compared to other classes. Because in the end, a cleric isn't a damage class at all.
There's a reason people ask clerics to heal, buff, rez, and stuff like that. Because naturally, they're better doing that than anything else o:

Damn right.

And if a cleric goes PvP with a DPS the only chances they have is wasting the opposition's stones. Unless that cleric is way higher than the DPS.

Which is one reason why I don't go fight clerics, unless they're 20 or more levels lower than me. I'm not dumb enough to waste stones on nonsense, unless it's a guild war or if that b*tch pisses me off.
