I have a LG515, and it looks quite similiar. I can tranfer the files via Bluetooth or over my data plan.

The Bluetooth thing is officially called a "dongle", heh.

No idea. It entered the lexicon sometime in the 80s, referring specifically to a security/encrpytion device to prevent software pirating, but it's used now for any sort of little device you plug in to a computer.

I bet the etymology would be interesting to hear, though.

Ohh so Dongle isn't specifically for the Bluetooth device? It includes USB memory sticks and such?

Yep, basically. There are some people who get bent out of shape if you call a thumbstick (memory stick, USB storage device, whatever) a dongle, but those people can generally be assumed to be jackasses and ignored completely on any computer-related subject.
