Sig Question

Hey got a question about sigs. Umm Im trying to make a picture as a sort of a back ground while having a figure on top of this other picture but when I try and combine them the figure has a white back ground behind it. My question is.... is there any way to make this back ground transparant or gone or something. Hehe any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

i'm a graphics noob.. but the way i'd work around is...

1. do a PrtScn of the forum page.
2. Use the colour select tool to copy the background colour of the forum...
3. Fill ur siggy background with the colour u just selected...

then ur siggy will look transparent XD

I think if u use photoshop u can delete the background so that its transparent (so u see the gray and white boxes) then u can save it as gif.. that might work too...

might not be the best way to do it XD but yeah.. u'll hear from the forum artist soon enough if there's a proper way to do it keke

^ I think Sheya wants to put a pic on top of another pic. Although what you said can work too.

Sheya, do you have photoshop?

If you do, there's a number of ways you can do this:

Open up a document on Photoshop, and put the picture on a new layer.

You can either:
1. Simply use an eraser tool and rub out everything besides your character (this is the long way if you don't have a tablet).

or

2. Using the Magnetic Lasso Tool, make a selection around your character, then press CTRL + SHIFT + I (Or Select > Inverse), and press Delete to erase everything outside your character's selection.

or

3. Use the magic wand tool and select areas you want to be deleted then delete it like that.

After you erased the backgrounds, you can paste your background picture on a new layer underneath your character picture, and your character will appear on top of the picture.

I only explain it briefly because you might not have Photoshop. But if you do and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Yea I got photoshop but everytime I use it I get utterly confused is why I find all sorts of problems but Ill try what you explained and see if I get it to work thank you to both of you.

Ok I got it to work now I need to know how to change the file type so I can use it on other programs. Any way I can do this?

Watch the double+ posting. Use the edit button in the bottom right hand corner of your first post to add more to it.

Hehe opps sorry really bad at forum stuff Il try to catch myself next time.

Edit: If its not one thing its another..... when I switched the file type made it look like crap and made it really small as you can see. Hehe I'm gonna wait till im home to finish working on it.

or jst extract the figur usin the magic wand or lasso..... its not hard but takes patients...
