Since there are tons of Questions about RF these days, i devided to make a little guide for ya guys.


Which Server you guys play on?
99% of us are on Dahin, i wouldnt recommend Novus since they got alot of restored Accounts running around with full pimped-out chars.

Which race should i choose?
Depends on you. Most onRPGers play Bellato.

What are the differences between the races?
1.) Accretia. They are huge robots with an extra defense +. Their race-speciality are the Strikers, which can dish out neat damage if they are sieged.
Now what means sieged? Strikers can go into Siege-Mode, giving them +30% (atleast) more damage. Its easy to run away from them if you do it right.
2.) Bellato. Bells are the so called Dodgemonkeys. They have access to the highest dodge-rates ingame and are the "balanced" race. Their race speciality are the MAUs. (Massive Armor Units??) MAUS are huge, almost Gundam-alike robots, which can be driven by Armor riders and drivers. Most onRPGers play Bellatos, btw.
3.) Cora. Well, we call them the p0rn-elves from space. They are tall, powerful and squishy. Coras are the DPS race in RF online. Their race speciality are the Graziers, they are able to summon powerful anima(Summons), Inanna can heal, Paimon tanks for you, Isis is a high-dmg dealer and Hecates fast attacks are mostly critical and can stun enemys for a second.

Accretian Striker
Sorry guys i dont know much about strikers, but all you need to know is that you need to buy so called "Siege-Kits" to unleash your full power. You can put such a siege kit in your hotbar and press the button to activate it. Note that youre immobile while using a siege kit, setting it up takes some time (2-3 secs)
Bellato MAUs
As i've said already, MAUs are huge (and expensive) battlemechs. You can buy and upgrade them at the MAU dealer in the Bellato HQ.
MAUs have a huge DMG output at later levels and can take quite a bit of damage. Make sure you hop out of your mau before it gets blown up, or you'll lose it.
I dont think there is more explanation needed, once you right-click your mau-key there'll pop up a interface in the bottom right corner.
Only drivers and armor riders (specialists class-advancements)are able to ride those mechs.
Cora Summoners
As a summoner you get the ability to summon four different types of animae. As stated above, Inanna can heal, Paimon can tank,Hecate can AoE-crit and Isis is quite a great damage dealer.
Once you have such a summon in your inventory, right click it and a Summon-window will pop up. You can drag the icons of the summons into your hotbar. Dont ever buy sealed summons, they are used by specialists
If you summon your animus, a little control interface in the upper left will pop up. In this interface you can change your animus' mode to defensive, offensive or on command.
There are hotkeys to control your summon, but i cant remember which, sorry
Be aware: If your summon's level exceeds your own level by more then 1, you will be unable to summon it until the next level.

What are PTs? I dont get it!
Unless in other mmorpgs, you dont get stat points when you level up. You get the ability to wear higher level armor from training your PTs.
For example, a lvl 45 sword requires 68 melee pt. Therefore you have to train your PT up to 68 in order to equip the sword at lvl 45.

PTs and the bonuses they give
Melee PT gives Melee damage and a few SP
Range PT gives Ranged damage and alot SP
Force PT gives Magic Damage and a few FP
Race Speciality PT: Only used for MAUs/Launchers/Summons (Launcher PT also increases FP)
Shield PT gives a higher block rate when shields are equipped
Defense PT gives more defense and more HP

What PTs do i need then?
Depends on your class. A mage would want to get Force PT and Defense as high as possible. Shield wouldnt hurt too, equiping a shield while running away could save your arse many times, trust me.

How can i train my PTs?
For your class-specific attack PT it's recommended to buy a low level weapon (not too low level, or you wont get PT) and just attack a mob of your level over and over again.
Melee example: Buy a lowlvl sword, get an ace mob (those with an [A] below the name), turn on auto attack and go afk ^^
Rinse and repeat. Yes, it can get very boring but it gives you the ability to wear higher level weapons.
How to train defense and shield PT?
You get defense PT by getting hit from mobs and shield PT by blocking hits with your shield. the higher your shield PT are, the higher is your blockrate. the higher your blockrate is, the higher is the chance to block hits and run away ^^

What happens if i power-level and dont train my PTs?Tee-hee
Enjoy being gimped then. You will be unable to wear higher level equipment and get more damage if you dont have a decent trained defense.

Why are all my force skills grey??
Force skills have to be bought at the npc called 'FORCE'

I do only have Basic Skills! How do i get Experts or even Elites?
You need 30 PTs in your Basic skills in order to unlock expert skills, and 50 basic and 50 expert to unlock elite skills.
To check how much PTs you still need, press L as a ranger or melee class, and F as a force user.
Specialists need 50 in basic PT to unlock expert skills are unable to acquire elite skills.
Please note that force users have to craft elite skills or buy them from the auction house.

If you have all the required materials, you go to an npc called 'HERO', chose combination, input your materials and keep your fingers crossed.
It has a chance to fail, so dont be shocked if it doesnt succeed.

Are there Class-Changes? If yes, can i Cross-Class?
You can change your class at level 30 and level 40.
Yes, you can crossclass but it isnt recommended. By crossclassing you will miss out all the great class skills but gain a bit more versatility.
Note that cross-classes need a greatly pimped out gear or your damage will plain suck. (since you miss out the class skills)

What about crafting? Is there any?
Yes, there's alot crafting. If you decide to play a specialist, you will open up a great number of options for crafting items.
A specialist can craft anything - ammo, weapons, armor, potions; just everything.
Note that there are various restrictions on what you can make, based on your crafting skill level.

Before crafting an item, you need to take a look at the primary materials and secondary materials, which are extracted from ores (mining) or loots obtained via hunting. Primary materials and secondary materials will vary depending on the item you want to create.



Click the crafting tool in the inventory and a crafting interface will show up.

Select the item you want to create, and the type and number of “primary material” and “secondary material” will appear below. When you get all the necessary materials ready, click the “Craft” button to create the item.

Where do i get more inventory space?
Those bags can be bought at the NPC called 'TOOL'.

Where is my storage? / I have 'gold' in my inventory, how do i make money of it?
The storage is called COINEXCHANGE. You have to setup your storage for 100K currency. this storage is available to all charakters on the account, though. At the COINEXCHANGE dude you can also exchange your gold for currency. Drag the little arrow to the right and press okay.

Ooo i just got a lvl 31/35 Armor card from completing a NPC quest! how can i get my armor now?
Go to the NPC called HERO, chose item combination, input your card and press okay(the middle)
A window will pop up, asking you for a 100k fee, be aware.

It takes so long to download the client!
I'd recommend a downloadmanager, it'll be ALOT, and i mean alot, faster then if you download it with the IE plugin. If you dont want to use a DL manager, download the 4 parts.

Why should i even play RF? Whats it all about?
In RF its all about PvP. I mean, EVERYTHING. You lvl up to pvp better, you farm equipment to pvp better, you even pvp to pvp better.
3 times a days there's something called 'Chipwar', where all 3 races meet up and gank eachother
Your race has to destroy the so called "Chip" (its more like a tower) of an opposite race. The main theme of RF Online is the war between the three races for control of the main mining area. When one race defeats the other two, they gain exclusive access to the Core of the mine.

I've yet to play much into but its a decent grind so I might play it on a private server. But the cap is only 50 so that kinda makes up for it... I just want the end game pvp, the first f2p I've seen with a decent end game LOL
