when u start grinding kidmons and jeweltrees, u'll see the value in empowering magic blast cd/damage. these helped tremendously as the two mobs are ranged mobs, and like all other Burning Rock enemies, incredibly stupid and difficult to collect into an AOE. Kidmons also heal themselves and others so killing them one by one is usually a good idea if you're soloing or duoing. if you're fighting two kidmons at once, u'll be a while as they heal eachother ><

*NOTE* Cooldown was applied to MB, and Fireball. I played around with it for while and it really didn't give me a significant advantage over any monsters (at this level), so I reset it. CD on MB is fun.

When your capped, and all ther eis to do is pvp, its a very handy one.
I know many capped or almost capped mages that maxed CD on fireball.

Yeah, that's what I mean. Right now you have to round out some other spells just to keep from taking too many hits. I usually lob the slow cooldowns 1st and spam the fast ones until they reset. Maybe later, there is still much for me to do quest wise, level, wise, and being a rich mage.
