You must have one of those professional cameras or something! If not, you should go into the photography biz, if you havent already Lol.

Its impossible to do macro shots without a good camera.
If you ever tried to create a 'background blur' effect only leaving the thing you want in focus with a normal camera and failed, you'll know what I mean.

Thats because you'll need the lens of a professional camera to do it.
The lens of a normal camera can't go up to that caliber.

I do have a quite good camera. I have a Sony DSC-H1 for the curious. Its a Class B camera.
I like it, takes awesome pictures. But not nearly as good as those wonderful Class A cameras. I drool for one of those.

I would love to be professional photographer, but my knowledge is still pretty basic. (Yes, how pretty they are, those pictures are still pretty basic ).
Me needs moar practice and knowledge on how to use awesome professional cameras.

I still see my typical flaws prominent in those pictures.

A post by an (really good) artist from another forum pretty much summed it up.

i am not a fan of watermarks and superimposed text on photographs. it detracts from the visual engagement by introducing iconic symbols of typography. i understand the precaution of not wanting people to steal your work, but a watermark is not going to stop anyone with photoshop if they really want to steal your work.

~the cropping.
the composition of some of the images is cropped in a way that intersects forms of the subject. the flower petals are sometimes cut short and the curvaceous flow of the piece is awkwardly stopped short. this causes a sense of tension and conflict with the contour of the flower. the first image, for example, the flower touches the left side of the picture plane. or the second image where the dark dots at the bottom in the center visually lead your eye away from the focal point of the photograph. its small things like that which do not feel as though they have been accounted for.

~the grain.
i would suggest using a tripod and a cable release (or timer) to prevent any movement of the camera while the exposure is being taken. i like the short depth of field, and i feel that the diffused sense of focus on the subject is good, but the quality of the flowers (foreground) really needs to contrast the blur of the background to emphasize the focal point of the subject. remember to expose for the shadows and to print for the highlights. you want to make sure you have detail in the shadows while not overexposing the highlights. do not rely on any auto focus or aperature/shutter speed to do this for you. know how to read the light meter, and bracket your exposures. bracketing means you take multiple photos using the same f/stop but do additional shots both over-exposing and under-exposing the image by doubling and then halving the time. (example is the shot is at 5.6 for 1 second, take an image at 1 second, then another at 2 seconds, then a third at 1/2 second)

if you have any questions lemme know and i'll try to elaborate more accurately.

good color palette and nice lighting, keep it up.
