I just got back from Detroit Michigan from the Junior Olympic Games~
I know you guys don't know 'track talk' but I'll break everything down as simply as possible.
I competed in the 800m dash (the only event I even qualified for and is 2 complete laps around a track)...and there were 8 heats (heats aren't temperatures nor something a female dog goes through, it's a race of competitors in a certain event) of it, and if you win your heat, you automatically advance too the finals. I won my heat by 300ths of a second, and I went into the finals with the worst qualifying time LMAO!
So then...earlier this morning were the National 800m finals, and since we were the first 'open' race (an open race is a race thats NOT a relay) we had to stand in our lanes and sing the national anthem.
Yeah I was nervous as hell, but I felt so pro
We stagger started and I'm really not use too stagger starts, only waterfall starts.
Staggered start:
Waterfall start:
When you stagger start in a race over 400m, you have too break at a line, 100m into the race.
break line:
and everyone moves over in lane 1.
So anyway...I was in last place the whole race, but on the last 100m I sprinted past 2 people...therefore making me the 6th fastest 800m runner in the nation

On a side note~
I really miss the Detroit airport and that sparkly and colorful walk way with all the moving sidewalks.
and LOL@me getting macaroni on my keyboard
