Doesn't make it any less interesting. Not saying im in support or against. But it'll be interesting to see how each side handles things.

If by "interesting" you mean one side will act like petulant children, make the image of the average computer user seem militant, anti-social, and criminal and probably tip any scales away from their position, then yeah. It'll be interesting.

Write your representatives, organize physical protest rallies, support the ACLU and the EFF, raise money and form a PAC, take out ad time. Don't be a script kiddie.

Speaking of EFF.

Quote:
Electronic Frontier Foundation co-founder John Perry Barlow described the attacks as "the shot heard round the world—this is Lexington."

As for anti-social, this banner seems to call for public action as well as internet action.

Instead they could construct a list of things that the internet has done for us. Maybe news stories where Anonymous and other acts on the internet have proven beneficial. But really, this is nothing new. I think this has been proposed before.

Found something close.

Quote:
The Internet is one of the last bastions of the free flow of information in our evolving information society, and one that is capable of connecting us all. Through the Internet, all the people of the world have access to information. When we all have access to information, we are strong. When we are strong, we posses the power to do the impossible--to make a difference, to better our world. This is why the government is moving on Wikileaks. This is what they fear. They fear our power when we unite. Please, do not forget this.

This video also handles the situation in a rather intelligent manner.

So really, the only way they're going to appear uneducated, millitant, and massively douchey going down the road they're going is if the major news networks distort their image into that sort of thing, or if people only listen to one side of the argument. Though the video DOES take a decidedly militant tone, it still presents some decently reasonable points, and seems to go through the points logically.

Young Turks discussed it too.
