I have a feeling the gravy you're referring to is prepared differently or is a different thing alltogether ?
Its perfectly accessible to drink gravy with a spoon while eating (Well, off your plate, not out of the Gravy-boat-thing)
Unless he wasnt eating and just nommin on some Gravah.

It was from one of those containers you get from a fast food place.

Regardless of whether it is acceptable or not... the way he was going at it was pretty disgusting.
