Yes, anything edible is food. To be exact, it is "material taken into an organism for growth, repair, and vital processes and as a source of energy" and "nourishment in a solid form."

Sushi SUCKS!!!!! The taste of seaweed is horrible, and add to that the part about eating animals that spend their entire life living in, breathing, and drinking their own feces and urine...... no thanks!
