Recommendations
I've been thinking for awhile about getting myself a desktop but honestly have no idea what I should be looking for. As you all can guess I'd like to get one that can play most games in high settings and figured that if it can do that it'll be good enough for any graphics work.
Some suggested building one but even if it is "relatively easy" and my bf saying he'll do it I know I can't bother with the homework and he isn't going to do it anytime soon. So any recommendations and/or key specs I should be looking at?

As far as online retailers go, I like newegg.com and tigerdirect.com.
What price range are you shooting for?

Preferably something under 1200.
And yeah, I'd rather not build anything... just option to upgrade if need be later.

Well I'll say DON'T GET ALIENWARE. I haven't had any experience with it myself, but I've heard about tons of people that have had it, and even though it was great while it lasted, it broke after maybe a year or a few months. I think it isn't worth the great time you have with it, unless you wanna spend a ton on a longer warranty and later have to pay full price for repairs...

Alienware is Dell's "high-end" gaming label. In the end, it's still a Dell. Let me look around a bit, see what's available.
