Ya, its probably over heating and its shutting off as like, an auto-emergency thingy so things don't get damaged. That computer isn't designed for gaming, just for general use so overheating in any game is because, well, its not made for that much gaming? xD Also, how long have you had it? Around a year and you have a shiz load of dust build up in there which will clog the fans and other stuff. Either go get it fixed somewhere that is TRUSTWORTHY, or before you try that since its expensive, just get some compressed air and blow around the open areas and fan openings. Gentle with the compressed air though, too much on the fan can make it spin faster than it should and you won't have an even working fan. But most importantly is that you DONT TRY TO TAKE THE LAPTOP APART YOURSELF! Like, don't even try...

Good luck, I guess?

You don't have a graphics card, you have a graphics chip.

Most likely Dell has configured a maximum cap on the RAM that may be shared with your graphics chip. Nevertheless, Dell is absolutely terrible with heat dispersion, and your computer is almost certainly overheating.

Try buying a can of condensed air to clean out the ducts as stated, or consider investing in a laptop cooler, or both.

Additionally, consider reducing DirectX to version 9.

To be brutally blunt, the specifications on your computer are not meant for any game above the level of Starcraft in terms of hardware performance. It was designed purely for entry level office work.

The "Windows Experience Index" is indicative. I anticipate your WEI to be constrained by your graphics chip, making it around 3.5, which is not an accurate indicator, but indicates well enough that you will be limited to old games. Anything new will fry your computer.

Quick tip: Turn and compressed air can upside down and you get an instant freeze spray.
