I was reading this really depressing autobiography... I love autobiography.. but this lady's life is like...

The book is called Elephant Girl and it's basically about this lady who was abused / not loved as a kid and now she's just getting sucked into the cycle of poverty.
A bit about the flaws of government assistance... why is rent $90 when she's unemployed then when she's employed the rent is $180? If she's unemployed she's got no income. If she's working she's just paying the whole of her paycheque into rent...
But it's getting harder and more depressing as I read it.. feels like a very bias story, I dunno if I can finish it...
Do you have anything u recommend?
