I think he forgot to mention that you have to be a relative of Bill Gates to afford it because not everyone can pull that money out of their pocket. Its one thing to see a powerful computer and want it but its another thing to actually get the money to buy it.

Not really. People at my college have $2000+ Macs. At least in my dorm, that is.

For me, I see it as a five year investment. In the age where computers go outdated extremely quickly, that one has the potential to compete strongly with many middle tier computers in the later years.

With a $15/hour job with the annoying American tax rate I can cover it, so naturally one can afford one too if one gets a job.

especially not most highschoolers and people their first or even second ear of colege. depending on major after that it's probably difficult to get a good job.
