The client still isn't avaliable for DL. Pity, that. I was hoping they would have a day's worth of client downloading ahead of the launch. Maybe they'll release it once business hours start?

Probably so. Their countdown timer is set for midnight tomorrow, Pacific, so they are probably on the West Coast. Cali is the most likely choice.

EDIT: It seems like someone has already mirrored the download. I'm not sure if it works or not... but it doesn't hurt to try I guess.
