If you right click the Brush icon on your tool bar, you'll see a Pencil icon. Select that, then have the brush size down to 1 pixel (well this can vary depending how thick you want it to be).
Then I just go to the edges of the picture and draw it on the sides. You can try straight lines by click and holding the mouse down, then hold shift, and drag your mouse vertically or horizontally depending which way you wanna go. I also zoom in when I do this sometimes, it makes it easier for me to find the edge.

Using the box tool thing and dragging it from one corner to the other, heh.

Another option is to make a new layer... go to the square marquee, click and hold on to it to show other options and select the thin rectangles. They're 1 pixel selections and just drag it to the edges and fill in using alt+backspace.
