We used GG as an example in the unfairness coming currently. Tomorrow... a guild could show up, and just blow everyone away with them ganging up on everyone. I'm talking about here and now.

Yeah. We'd tell Fullback, or Entropy. If Either of them heard it, it would have to be discussed with the mods... but obviously more than one. That would take you back to the GG's, and if you're complaining about something that happened, and GG doesn't agree with you... it's an overpowering decision.

wow so much hate going on here. The reason this is all starting to come about is stupid and I always thought we were above petty squabbles like this.I'm going to try and give a neutral opinion on the situation.

@FF in General:I think what Booyah was trying to say is this: All the mods on this forum are in G__G and a close-knit group of friends. Whenever a situation arises you get the same opinions from all of them because they all support each other. Theres no outside influence you could say. Yes the mods here do a great job. Even so it still gives people the impression that these forums are controlled by one group of people. I don't really know what went on in those nominations and I don't really care. Its kind of silly to complain now however since WE/YOU nominated these mods. Theres no point to fighting so instead of that why not just think of good solutions to these *problems*

I dont know if adding a Mod or two that isn't in G__G would work because that just ends up being too many Mod's or two Mod's would have to step down. It may ease some concerns but then it may cause larger rifts in the community.

@G__G: Don't take this personally. No one hates you or wants you to leave. I personally don't have a problem with the current Moderator situation.

No, I wouldn't be happy if GG disbanded. I don't hide that I think it is a dominant power here, but by no means do I dislike anyone in it or the guild itself! o: Also, without GG, iiNNOCENTcex would have no one to plot against! (Kidding. That thread was 100% joke, just to let everyone know)

IMO, the mods are fairly independent from G__G.

Rightclaw, I think, doesn't even play Fiesta anymore. I dun even think he is in G__G anymore...

Yosei wasn't in G__G when she got picked.

And I don't think G__Gers would make blind judgements about something just because another G__Ger is involved... I have never seen them as this big chunk of members that stick together...

Well people shouldn't make such assumptions on the guild -.- Sure we'll support other members, but that doesn't mean we will defend or always agree with them. But as far as friends go, friends tend to have the same opinions on most situations. I do know most G____G members will stay out of a situation if they do not agree with one G____G member.

I understand what you're saying, but you just said my answer to Booyah's question. We're a group of friends, usually. Friends defend each other. If you don't like it, get some other friends to join in!

Like Yosei said, this community is small. We don't have outside influence, and because GG recruits from the forums we live on FF.

I can't take this not personally. I'm part of GG; if I don't defend my guild, what kind of guildmate am I?

hypothetical situation:-

Let's say there's a vacancy for a Mod position. Let's also say that I applied. One of the requirements for application is that you have to list why you think you're good for the spot/qualified for it.

I write that I have a good post count, very active, good/non-hostile relations with majority of members (dun kill me), small experience with modding a forum, etc. etc.

Let's also suppose that I get selected for the position and that I was the best for the job (hypothetically), but in the light of this conversation, would it matter that I was in G____G at the time, or would I either have to not take the Mod or have to quit G____G?

Just wanna know the mind-set.

Anyway, the basest answer to the booyah's complaint goes to the culture of the forums since we've ALL decided that this goes beyond G__G. Hopefully. By now. Because I have. And it has.

If the opinions presented on this board are too homogenous for your liking, the truth of the matter is that there is not a lot that can be done about it.

That is simply how the forums turned out. Does that mean that it won't change in the future? No. But there is not a way to force it to change.

I'll use one quick example that could just as well be any other two people. Blahs and Hessah are sisters. They grew up in the same environment. Chances are, they are going to take similar viewpoints. That is not them supporting one another so much as simply agreeing with each other on an issue.
