Archers are mistaken as inferior damager dealers compared to Mages. This is because in raw output, Mages -are- the better damage dealers. They deal magic attack which is more effective against certain monsters, and their attacks are purely based on damage, and therefore will initially serve as the better damage dealer.
However, people mistake Archers to be simple damage dealers, and therefore, because of this, they think that's what they should be gauged as. Archers are really useful in a party, and the higher the lvl, the more apparent this becomes.
Their DoTs (Damage over Time) can stack, and server as a good way to diminish boss or elite monster HP, and at 51, they get a Posion damage AoE, which works really well in fast AoE parties. Also, they recieve an attack speed self-buff at lv60, and even more impressive skills during their 60s.

I posted this in a similiar thread where classes were being argued, and yes I realize that it has nothing to do with KQs; however, the same theory could be applied to levels as with classes.....
My personal opinion. GMs > ALL of us combined!!!! 
Also, WHY can we (and I say we, so as not to point any one person out in general) can we not just accept that everybody has their PREFERRED character they play. They play this character because THEY like it. It does not make any other class better than the other, it does not make any other class worse than the others. It is an on-line game meant to be played with other people and other classes. This means all classes have their weaknesses and strengths. Together we can kick ass against the mobs, alone we can do the same but it is easier and more fun when you have friends to help you. I will stop here before I get in trouble.
