For each link, there's a separate code to make the text that appears on your desktop and a separate code to execute the program. The 'Meters' basically link these two codes in order to make a working link.

X and Y basically indicates where your link is placed on the desktop.
The double link you see there is a function of this:

They're link Sub-sections or sub-links.

Did anyone manage to code the "My Computer" and "Recycle Bin" onto their desktop links?

eh no, but just code my desktop into one of them, it should have my computer and recycle bin in there

Lirange, late reply but I have no idea about the launchy bit. Will look into it when I get home... I don't think there was a disappearing button but yeah.

I may consider doing the text links. Btw, to link your Recycle Bin... can't you open up My Computer and (for Vista, don't remember for XP) the bin should be in the left most window? So I think you can just right-click and copy the target?

If I right click --> Properties it opens up the settings...

Not properties... just opening the window so I guess windows explorer. I run Vista at home so there's a list of files on the left, not sure if it's the same. x_x
