Except I don't think it is. Or at least not all of it. I think there's a very noticeable difference in talent level that goes beyond whether just liking their song. I mean, probably no one would ever say that Hyoyeon sings better than... Krystal/Luna even though I like SNSD songs more than f(x) songs.
I actually like G.NA's I'll Back Off more than Gummy's As a Man but I still think Gummy is a better singer. And it comes through in the performances with better intonation, better voice control, better tone, etc.
And there could be other reasons why G.NA doesn't sound as good in her performances as these other performances. Dancing, for one. I'm actually pretty sure that if she didn't dance, she would sound better in her performances. There's just no way you can sound as good when you have to dance and sing as opposed to just standing/sitting and singing.
I've never heard either of these songs before. G.NA's performance is good but Seo In Young's is just wow.
(Totally off-topic, but lulz at the English subtitles that pop up referring to G.NA as a group.)
And that's not to say that G.NA isn't good. She's a lot better than most other idols out there. But just not as good as the people who were nominated.
