I usually deny experience like that if the other team is incredibly newby or I'm playing a support character like Janna or Soraka. Otherwise i'm probably too squishy to take the dmg they'll throw at me. I don't think the left click thing works but what I do and most people do is just keep on right clicking the ground until you need to hit. Like a little dance. If you see me play or other people you'll see us moving a lot while we could be hitting. God blahs, this is basic LoL.

I absolutely HATE losing when I have such a good score. I had like 11-3-something with veigar in the game we all dced. One death was because we dced to -_-.

Tried the left clicking thing.. didn't really work D; but I only tried twice. Too busy to test again.
