I don't have much experience with PS3. I fully expect to fix that this coming summer, but I know that Uncharted is rather fun. Assassin's Creed is also worth looking at. Those are the two I have enough experience with to comment on.

In regards to FF13... My disclaimer to my succeeding comments is that I'm a Starcraft player, so graphics do not always mean that much to me. I know FF13 is expensive right now, so maybe pick it up when it gets cheap. It is basically the Avatar of the video game industry; gorgeous graphics, except with a good story.

As for the supposed linearity aspect, I agree. It is linear for the first segment. I personally have not played it, but I talked to some pretty serious gamers, and they agree that the linearity aspect does not detract from the overall game.
