I didn't get out a lot in middle school. I read the Hobbit in sixth grade and was fascinated by the creation of a language from whole cloth. Learned the Dwarvish runes first, then went on to the various Elvish languages. I didn't have a real firm grasp. I couldn't hold a conversation in them, for example, but I did work out a bit of a phrasebook. I wonder what ever happened to that.

Edit: For the record, what he said was in Sindarin and mine was in Quenya, if you were wondering why the look quite different stylistically. Sindarin was what was spoken by the majority of the elves in the Third Age (when the Lord of the Rings books take place). Quenya was a much older language and was used only in formal manner by the Third Age. Kinda like Latin, really.
